In Los Angeles, in the late 80's, aside from gangs and wall painters like our prolific Chaka, there were a few artists who, under the veil of night, took the city and made it their canvas: Joey Krebs (aka "The LA Phantom" whose "art saves lives" and "lost angels" ended up in dozens of music videos), Robbie Conal (whose political posters became countless LA WEEKLY covers) and Mark Miremont (whose anonymous dada-inspired star image/aphorisms like "Track Home Media", desecrated the Beverly Hills offices of entertainment giant, CAA, and finally landed him in jail). They formed the West Coast's answer to New York's Basquiat, Futura 2000 and Haring."
